How To Freshen Up Your Wardrobe With These DIY Freshening Sachets

Musty old wardrobes and draws can end up making your clothes smell just as bad, or worse they could attract insects that could ruin your favorite clothes. Luckily, by using a natural freshening sachet, you can get rid of that musty scent and also keep insects away. This is because traditional sachets use essential oils that act as a natural bug repellent. So if you want to add a delicate scent to your musty wardrobe why not make your own DIY freshening sachet with essential oils.

What you’ll need:
Organza drawstring bags (you can also make your own using some fabric scraps)
A small bowl for mixing
¼ cup dried lavender flowers and leaves, rose petals or orange peel)
¼ cup white rice
10-20 drops of essential oils of choice

Directions
Place the uncooked rice in the bowl and drip the essential oil onto the rice. Be sure to stir in the oil and mix as your add it. One the rice has been stirred well and each grain is covered, gently fold in the dried herbs or petal. Be careful not to mix too vigorously as this will break up the dried herbs.
Fill the organza bags with the rice mixture, making sure to leave some room at the top so that the bag can be closed.

These sachets are great for hanging in wardrobes or placing in linen closets. They can also be popped into a sock draw to help freshen them up. While the sent may fade over time, simply add a few more drops of essential oil to the sachets to revitalize them. Make sure to store away from direct light, moisture and heat
