In recent years, more and more people are becoming connected to what they eat and once something is out there and labeled a superfood, then there are plenty of people doing their research to find out what they can gain if they drink or eat it.

2019 saw a boost in superfoods and restaurants have caught on pretty quickly, with most selling some kind of specific heath food on their menus. Well, the start of this decade is no different and there are plenty of new superfood trends for us to soak up and enjoy and don’t worry, avocado is still on the list but what else is?

Fermented foods

Now we know this doesn’t sound overly appealing, but research continues to show the benefits of eating fermented foods and just to let you know, it is not the same as food that has just been left to go moldy. Fermented food is rich in microorganisms such as yeast and bacteria – the good kind. Without even realizing it, you have probably already been tucking into fermented foods, such as yoghurt, miso, kombucha, and pickles, and if you haven’t, then give it a try. The good bacteria can help your body’s immunity and help with digestion.


Basically, there is nothing seeds cannot do, from containing minerals, vitamins, protein, fiber, and healthy fats, they really are a true superfood. There are plenty of ways to get your seed fix, from frying and adding them to a salad to making a delicious chia seed pudding and more. There are plenty of recipes out there and in all honestly, seeds are something you can add to a meal at any time of days and if you’re into it, you can even keep a bag close by for when you are looking for a little snack.
