How To Date Offline

With so many dating apps to choose from like Tinder, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, and the list goes on it can be pretty daunting to jump into the world of online dating if you have been off the market for a while. You may be asking yourself, “Do I really want to start matching with people on Tinder and making small talk just to realize that I don’t even like them?” These are all questions the singles out there find themselves asking. But you don’t have to use apps to meet people, it is still possible to meet organically and avoid that awkward first date where you realize someone lied in their picture or that they are substantially shorter than you thought they would be. Not that these are deal-breakers! But here are some ways to meet people naturally and not in a chat that may turn risque way too quickly.

Hobbies

Do you love going hiking, running, or even doing pottery? These are all great hobbies that usually involve you having to get out in public and engage with people. Doing something that you find interesting and enjoy talking about is a great way to meet like-minded people. Look at some hiking or running groups in your area. A lot of the time these clubs will have weekly or monthly meetings and love welcoming new members to them. As you go on more hikes or runs, new people may show up and some chemistry might spark between you and another member which leads to beers after a hike, and then dinner after that. Romance can happen anywhere at any time.

Ask Your Friends

If you are willing to go on a blind date with someone from an app then you should have no problem being set-up with someone that your friend thinks would be a good match for you. After all, your friends know you the best, what you like, what your type is, what you are looking for in a romantic partner and so forth. Thus, they should be able to tell pretty quickly if one of their single friends would be a good match for you. And if it doesn’t work out, no problem, maybe you just scored a new friend which isn’t a bad thing either.

Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Staying at home and reading or watching TV is not going to make it any easier to meet the love of your life. Sign up for a new sport or activity you haven’t done before that will put you into a group of new people. Chances are they will all be warm and welcoming and you will be able to meet some people you probably would not have. Love can be found in the most unexpected of places.
