Where the cast of JAG is today

Susan Haskell as Lt. Cmdr. Jordan Parker

Over the eight episodes, we got to see the relationship between Jordan and Harm Rabb blossom… and end. However, in a twist, Jordan was killed off in season six, with the team left to reveal who was responsible for the crime. Susan had previously been known as Dr. Marty Saybrooke in One Life to Live (winning two Emmys for her portrayal), which she left the year before joining the show.

After leaving the show, Susan reprised her role as Dr. Marty Saybrooke in 2004 and 2005, and once again became a permanent member of the cast in 2008. However, in 2011 it was announced that the actress had been fired from One life to Live.  Since the soap, Susan has kept a low profile and stayed out of the acting world.

Andrea Parker as Lt. Caitlin Pike

Caitlin was one of the original cast members in the pilot episodes where she appeared as the first partner to Harm Rabb. The pair shares a steamy weekend together, but the relationship never developed into anything as they both realized they didn’t have feelings for each other. Caitlin reappeared in season six when she returned to file a complaint against one of the officers. Just before her appearance on the show Andrea had played Linda Farrell in ER, but left the same year she joined JAG.

A few years after leaving the show Andrea got the role of Catherine Parker in The Pretender, who she played for four years. The character also led to the actress starring in the two franchise TV films. Andrea also appeared as Jane Carlson in Desperate Housewives, but she is recently most famous for starring in Pretty Little Liars: the actress initially appears playing Jessica DiLaurentis, but later appears as Mary Drake.

Anne-Marie Johnson as Rep. Roberta Latham

Roberta, or Bobbi, was on the show from season three until seven. Over the years Bobbi appears in 17 episodes where she attracts her co-worker, Captain Harm Rabb, Jr. Before her time on JAG, Anne-Marie had many big roles, including starring in What’s Happening Now!!

This actress has appeared in a vast number of shows over the years, including The X-Files, Dharma & Greg, That’s So Raven, NCIS, and Days of Our Lives – just to name a few! Most recently Anne-Marie has appeared in the Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later where she played Burkhart for three episodes. In 2017 it was announced that the show Imposters would be returning for a second season with Anne-Marie as one of their new cast members; it’s due to be aired in 2018.

Isabella Hofmann as Professor Meredith Cavanaugh

This character first appeared in the show during season seven when a mixup at JAG headquarters sees Meredith meet Admiral A. J. Chegwidden. Initially, Chegwidden believed his colleagues had tried to set the pair up on a blind date, only he soon learned that Meredith was, in fact, there to talk about Lt. Mackenzie’s (Mac’s) younger sister, Chloe. The pair began dating and even got engaged, but it was called off when Meredith was unfaithful. JAG wasn’t the first show for the actress, but would it be the last?

Isabella Hofmann Now

Over the years Isabella has been credited in over thirty shows, including CSI: Miami, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Suits just to name but a few. However, none of her roles have ever been recurring since her time on JAG as the actress now makes one-off appearances instead. Isabella has made a few appearances in movies over the years, too, including Burlesque, and West End. Most recently Isabella has appeared in Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland – the television film that was released in 2017.

David James Elliott as Captain Harmon “Harm” Rabb, Jr.

This leading man is the only character to appear in all 227 episodes of the show. Harmon, better known as Harm, is the star of the show. He investigates the crimes within the Marines and Navy with his partner in crime, Sarah MacKenzie. A few years before the show, David had already landed a leading role in Street Legal, in addition to various other smaller parts, but had never been given a role as prominent as Harm in JAG.

David James Elliott Now

After the success of the show, David is still most recognized for bringing the character of Harm to life. During the filming of the show, he was a sought-after actor who landed a number of roles in television movies. Since the finale in 2005, David has continued to act. He has been seen in Close to Home, and The Guard, but David’s most recent leading role was back in 2010 when he played Wolf West in Scoundrels. Recently the actor has made a minor appearance in the sitcom, Mom.

Hallee Hirsh as Matilda Grace Johnson

Mattie made her first appearance in season nine. The character grows close to Harm Rabb when she briefly employs him at her crop-dusting company, but their relationship is purely father-daughter, as he even fosters her for a while. She briefly reconnects with her estranged father, but a plane accident leaves Mattie paralyzed. The crash brings Mattie and Harm closer, as he promises to help her recover.

Hallee Hirsh Now

This young actress had continued to appear in a number of productions over the years, including Flight 29 Down, Grey’s Anatomy, and Sloppy Tacos, with her most recent work in Chasing the Rain due to be released sometime in 2018. Off-screen, Hallee tied the knot in 2013 to actor Ryan Martin and the pair share one son together. When she isn’t acting, Hallee keeps busy on social media where she runs a food and lifestyle Instagram page.

Zoe McLellan as Petty Officer Jennifer Coates

Jennifer Coates was one of the main characters. After living through a troubled childhood, the military offered a safe haven for Jen to escape from the past. However, Jen nearly gets sent away for a murder she didn’t commit after being framed by a former friend. The show was one of the first significant roles for Zoe McLellan who had never landed a leading role before.

It was her role in NCIS: New Orleans from 2014 that the actress is most recognized for now. In the show, Zoe played the character of Agent Meredith Brody but was written out two years after joining the team. After finalizing her divorce in 2016 to fellow actor J.P. Gillian, recently we have been able to see Zoe bring the character of Kendra Daynes to life in Designated Survivor after landing the role in 2017.

Cynthia Sikes as Dr. Sydney Walden

This doctor is another love interest for Admiral A. J. Chegwidden, when she first appears in season five. The audience gets to witness their relationship blossom. However, that all comes to a quick end when her son, Danny, is accused of stealing Chegwidden’s car. As Sydney believed her son was innocent, she ended the relationship. For Cynthia, her time in JAG was one of her last on-screen appearances of her career, so where is she now?

This actress had a successful acting career before her time in JAG, so why did she give it up? Well, after a short comeback in 2008 when the actress played Zara Costelana in The Young and the Restless, Cynthia wanted a career change. In 2017 Cynthia decided to start producing, and  the award nominated movie Blade Runner 2049, starring Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling was her big gig.

Mae Whitman as Chloe Madison

Chloe is the lovable little girl who appears in season four. While it is initially thought that Chloe is an orphan, Mac discovers that her father is very much alive. Even though she manages to reunite the pair, Mac takes Chloe on as her surrogate sister. Chloe was by not Mae’s first acting role as she had already appeared in Friends, One Fine Day and Chicago Hope.

Mae has been credited in nearly 150 different productions over the years, all before thirty years old! Some of her most significant roles include voicing Katara in Avatar: The Last Airbender, April O’Neil in the TV series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Anne Veal on Arrested Development and Amber Holt on Parenthood. Mae has also had a number of movie roles, including Valley Girl, which is set to be released this year.

Paul Collins as Alexander Nelson

The former Secretary of the Navy, Alexander Nelson was portrayed by Paul Collins.

Since his role on JAG, he has continued to be successful, appearing in TV and movies. You can find Collins in The West Wing, Boston Legal and Sons of Anarchy.

Patrick Labyorteaux as Bud Roberts Jr

Patrick Labyorteaux stars in the second highest number of episodes of the show, of any of the cast members, as Bud Roberts Jr. He plays one of the best trial lawyers on the team, one that gained a lot of respect from other members.

Before Patrick Labyorteaux starred in JAG, he was best known for playing Andrew ‘Andy’ Garvey in Little House on the Prairie. After starring in JAG, Patrick came back for three episodes of NCIS, with his most recent episode being in 2018. The star has also had several roles in TV shows, including American Crime Story, Castle, and Rebel.

Chuck Carrington as Jason Tiner

Played by Chuck Carrington, Petty Officer First Class Jason Tiner is the admiral’s yeoman in 102 episodes of the show – finally leaving in season 9 once he completes his law degree and gets accepted into OCS (Officer Candidate School). Tiner is known for adding comedic effect to the show

Chuck Carrington Now

Since his part on JAG, Chuck Carrington has remained active, however, not to the same level. He has had some small parts on TV shows, which include Blue Bloods and White Collar, he also played Dan for two episodes in the US version of Shameless.

Michael Bellisario as Michael ‘Mikey’ Roberts

Michael Bellisario played the role of Mikey, Bud’s younger brother. Mikey joined the Naval Academy, but things didn’t go quite the way he expected. After a gun malfunction on the USS Wake Island, Bud had to clear his brother’s name.

Michael is in fact the son of Donald P. Bellisario – the creator of JAG! After his time on the show, Michael Bellisario moved onto NCIS to play the lab assistant Charles ‘Chip’ Sterling for several episodes. In 2007, he played James Vane in The Picture of Dorian Gray but then took a break from the spot light for a while.

Cindy Ambuehl as Rene Peterson – Then

Cindy Ambuehl played the role of Rene Peterson. Rene, a video director, met Harm as she was filming a Navy promotional video. The two began dating, but because Harm was quite cold and unloving, so she left him. However, it turned out that she was pregnant with his twins.

Cindy Ambuehl has several talents to her name. She is not only an actress, but is also a quite successful fashion designer. Interestingly, she was able to put her real life pregnancy into her role in JAG, as she gave birth to twins.

John M. Jackson as Rear Admiral A. J. Chegwidden

This highly significant character was in the show from the beginning until season nine. As the Judge Advocate General of the Navy, Chegwidden was respected by all of his colleagues, as he was a sort of father figure. When he decided to retire in season nine, it left the whole team in shock to see their friend walk out of the door for the last time. John had already landed a few minor acting roles, but playing Chegwidden saw his career really soar to new heights.

John M. Jackson Now

After leaving the show, John spent a brief moment in Bones playing Sam Cullen. However, in 2013 the actor reprised his role of Chegwidden for the spin-off from the show, NCIS. Since then the actor has gone on to appear in the Los Angeles version of the show during 2017. Over the years John has stuck within the crime drama acting scene as he has appeared as minor roles in CSI, Castle, Criminal Minds, and Stalker.

Tamlyn Tomita as Lt. Cmdr. Tracy Manetti

This multilingual lieutenant joined for seven episodes in season eight. To begin with, Tracy was drafted in to assist Harm Rabb to investigate a number of crimes in Europe, thought to be by the Navy. Even though her time is short lived on the show, we learn a lot about Tracy’s backstory. Before the show, Tamlyn made appearances in The Burning Zone, and Santa Barbara, as well as the movies The Karate Kid Part II, The Joy Luck Club, and Living Out Loud.

Her career has continued to grow and grow after her time on the show. The actress has landed a number of great roles including playing Dr. Ellen Yu in Days of Our Lives, Sandra Abe in Berlin Station, Noshiko Yukimura in Teen Wolf, and Allegra Aoki in The Good Doctor, just to name a few. As well as all her previous work, Tamlyn also has The Living Worst set to come out late 2018.

Meta Golding as Tali Mayfield

Tali appears in season ten as one of the newest lawyers to work as part of the JAG team. We learn on the show that Tali and Lt. Gregory Vukovi, her suave and immature coworker, share a past together. Before becoming an actress, Meta had competed in Italy as a figure skater but broke into the world of acting in 1995. While Tali had landed various one-off appearances over the years, JAG was her first major break.

The actress has had recurring roles in CSI, The Tomorrow People, and Dark Blue. However, one of her most famous characters was playing Enobaria in two of The Hunger Games movies. Sticking within the crime drama acting world, Meta also appeared in Criminal Minds for eight episodes back in 2008. Recently the actress has been filming Behind the Movement which is due to come out at the end of 2018.

Scott Lawrence as Commander Sturgis Turner

This commander is seen to have a history with his former classmate, Harm, and the two continue their friendship on the show by playing basketball and working on cars together. On the show, Sturgis is a stickler for rules which often leads to him being mocked by Harm. Before the show, his 76 episodes of JAG were his biggest claim to fame at the time.

Scott Lawrence Now

After the finale of the show, Scott continued to act. He has made appearances in American Horror Story, Desperate Housewives, and Fear the Walking Dead Over the years. However, Scott’s latest appearance has been playing Pete Dixon in the mystery thriller, Mr. Mercedes.

Steven Culp as Special Agent Clayton Webb

This character is first introduced in the second season and goes on to appear in 41 episodes. Clayton worked for the CIA, which meant he often had to team up with the JAG team. However, after a while the two groups became rivals. Clayton had a relationship with Mac over the years which didn’t have a happy ending, unfortunately. Clayton faked his death as part of his work, something he had successfully done in the past. The move didn’t sit well with Mac, who ended things.

Steven Culp Now

JAG was just another rung on the ladder to success for this actor, who has continued on with this outstanding career. Over the years, Steven has appeared in shows such as CSI, NCIS, Law & Order, and Body of Proof. However, it was his role as Rex Van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives that Steven is now most widely recognized for. Steven’s most recent work has been guest starring in the sci-fi comedy, The Orville, in September 2017.

Trisha Yearwood as Teresa Coulter

Trisha Yearwood played the role of United States Navy Lieutenant Commander Teresa Coulter in JAG for several years. Despite only appearing in six episodes of the show, she was still an integral character on the series, appearing in shows in seasons three, four, five, six, and seven. On the show, Lieutenant Commander Teresa Coulter was a forensic pathologist and a coroner, and her sparse appearance in the show was said to be because she was in the reserves, and not full time Navy.

Trisha Yearwood Now

Trisha Yearwood is perhaps best well known as one of country music’s top female music stars. She has released several studio albums, and has won a plethora of awards, including several Country Music Association Awards, three Grammys, an Emmy, and an American Music Award. She is the wife of fellow country singing legend Garth Brooks, and the couple have even recorded a Grammy winning song together. She lives with Garth and her children on their estate in Owasso, Oklahoma.

Karri Turner as Lieutenant Harriet Beaumont Sims-Roberts

Karrie Turner plays the role of Lieutenant Harriet Beaumont Sims-Roberts in JAG. An southern bell who comes from old money, she was initially Sims was originally ridiculed by her family for joining the armed services. She first served as and Ensign aboard the Seahawk where she med Bud Roberts. The two hit it off, and when she got sent to the JAG administrative offices, the two were finally able to realize their romance.

Karri Turner Now

Born in Texas and raised in Arkansas, Karri Turner has been acting since 1994. She began her acting career in the show Wild Oats and acted in various shows throughout the 1990s, including South Park, Caroline in the City, and X-Files before acting for 81 episodes of JAG. She appeared on two episodes of Heroes in 2006, but has not done much acting since, spending her time entertaining troops on USO tours instead.

Andrea Thompson as Alison Krennick

Andrea Thompson played Captain Alison Krennick in seven episodes of the show; mainly in Season 1, but with a brief comeback in Season 9. Krennick was Harm’s direct superior, but this didn’t stop her playing a dangerous game with Captain Harmon Rabb Jr. She violated military protocols by trying to seduce Harm near the end of Season 1. In Season 10 she is named as a potential replacement for Admiral Chegwidden, but this suggestion is shot down rather swiftly.

Andrea Thompson Now

Before starring in JAG, Andrea Thompson already had dozens of acting credits to her name; including big roles in Babylon 5 and NYPD Blue. From 2003-2004, Thompson played Dr. Nicole Duncan in 24 and then had a recurring role in the TV mini-series, Heroes: Destiny. Things have gone fairly quiet for the actress over the last few years, with a couple of small roles in TV shows, along with voicing Dazzle and Lady Jane in the video game, Fallout: New Vegas.

Nanci Chambersas Lt. Loren Singer

Nanci Chambers played the role of Lieutenant Loren Singer. She appeared off and on in five seasons of the show, before her character’s life was ended in a shocking scandal, which totally took viewers by surprise.

Nanci Chambers has since performed in Street Legal, L.A. Heat, and Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. Chambers and her husband are very passionate environmentalists, and are on the board of A Better L.A. She focuses much of her time on this passion.

Tracey Needham As Meg Austin

Tracey Needham played the role of Meg Austin. It was her who recommended that Lieutenant JG Bud Roberts replace her once she left JAG headquarters.

Tracey Needham has had quite a colorful acting career. Since the show, she took on roles in shows such as VR.5, The Division, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Veronica Mars. She is still acting and continues to be successful.

Laura Putney as Catherine Gale

Laura Putney took on the role of Catherine Gale in the eight as well as the ninth seasons of the hit television show JAG. She did not have a very large role in the show, acting in the role in only three episodes of season eight (the first and the seventh episodes, as well as the 23rd episode) and two episodes in season nine (the second episode and the sixth episode). She is rumored to have had a fling with Harm.

Laura Putney has had quite a long acting career. She took on roles in a plethora of shows before her performance on JAG, including Tail Sting, The Random Years, ER, State of Grace, and Star Trek: Enterprise before her roles in JAG. She has continued to act, taking on roles in This Is Not a Test, ACME Saturday Night, You Be the Judge!, and Cake. We are excited to see what she ends up doing next!

Catherine Bell as Major Sarah MacKenzie

For eight years Catherine was Sarah MacKenzie, or “Mac”. Throughout the show, the viewers learn of the character’s troubled childhood that led to her joining the Marines. Before JAG the actress had smaller appearances in TV shows and films, such as Friends and Mother of the Bride, under her belt.

Over the years Catherine has definitely flourished in her acting. In 2007 the actress secured the role as Denise Sherwood in the show Army Wives, but in 2008 Catherine was cast as the leading role in the television film The Good Witch. Since then the film has spanned a franchise, including six more films that all star Catherine as Cassie Nightingale. The movies finally got their own TV series in 2015, which is still airing today.
