Our minds are very powerful, we often give our thoughts too much reign, so that they affect how we feel and act. We need to be able to nurture our thoughts, to allow them to pass through our minds like wandering clouds, yet without negative ones getting stuck and ruminating and growing.
Looking after our thoughts can have a great positive impact on our daily lives. Remember that what you are thinking is not a fact, it is a thought, and at any moment you have the power to change a negative one into a positive one, should you so want to.
So free up space in your mind for positivity. A great way to do this is through meditation. Give yourself just 5 minutes each morning to be with your breath, and to be aware of the hundreds of thoughts passing in and out of your mind.
Try mindfulness techniques to ground yourself and bring yourself back to the present moment. Coloring is a great tool, it relaxes and calms the mind and allows you to create space and just be.
Give yourself a positive mantra for each day, that you will say to yourself in the morning in the mirror, to remind yourself that you are great, and that you are more than enough right now.
Seeking help is not something to be ashamed of. We could all use a helping hand, or an extra set of ears to listen when we need it most and to help us navigate our way.
