Here is a little secret, everything happens to you in your mind. Everything you see, everything you hear, everyone you meet, it all happens in that mind of yours. With that in mind, you are solely responsible for everything you think, and everything that comes your way. This means, that whatever you are holding onto that causes you pain, you are also able to clear it, clean it out, and through the act of forgiveness, you an finally let it go.
There are four simple steps to this method: Repentance, Forgiveness, Gratitude and Love. All of these forces have incredible power. Try to say the words in your head, really meaning what you say. You will find so much power in the feeling and in the willingness to forgive yourself and to truly love and accept yourself just as you are in this moment regardless of anything else.
Repentance – I’M SORRY
When apologizing to yourself, you are acknowledging ways that you have hurt yourself, but you are truly sorry for doing that. Choose something that you already know you’ve caused for yourself. It could be food, alcohol or some other substance. Maybe it is an anger issue or health problem. Whatever it is, choose one thing to start with and say you’re sorry. It is as simple as that, simply: I’M SORRY.
Ask Forgiveness – PLEASE FORGIVE ME
Don’t worry about who you’re asking. Just ask! PLEASE FORGIVE ME. Say it over and over and really mean it when you say it. It could be to yourself asking yourself for forgiveness or someone else in your life.
Gratitude – THANK YOU
Thank your body for everything that it does for you no matter what. Thank yourself for being the best you can be. Thank your friends, or the Universe. Thank your life for all that it is.
Love – I LOVE YOU
This is extremely powerful. Say I LOVE YOU. Say it to your body, say it to the fresh air you breathe every day. Say it again and again. Mean it, and truly feel it with every ounce of your being. This is so powerful. Love is the healer of all. The minute you love yourself with no strings attached and with no expectations, the minute you let it all go and find true self acceptance.
Simple but so so effective, try using this tool every day, to bring mindfulness back into your life and to appreciate where you are on your journey. This will help you to really acknowledge how far you have come, and that you are doing great.
