First of all, here’s what you’ll need to get started:
2 lemons, scrubbed
Juice from a third lemon
7 or 8 strawberries
6 tablespoons of sugar
4 cups of cold water
Half a tray of ice cubes (7 or 8 is fine)
Once you’ve got everything together, you can get started. Cut your lemons into fourths and remove all of the seeds. As far as the strawberries go, just cut the tops off of them. You can slice them further if you want, but it’s not required.
Now, you’re ready to fill up your blender. Add the ice cubs, cold water, sugar, and lemon juice. Put your sliced lemons and strawberries in and put the lid on securely.
Run your blender for about a minute and then check your mixture. This is a frozen lemonade, so it should be the texture of a frozen margarita. A little frothiness is definitely okay.
From there, you can pour your finished frozen strawberry lemonade mix over ice or just serve it in a glass. It’s your choice. What’s more important is to regularly stir the pitcher to keep the rest of your mixed strawberry lemonade from getting separated.
If you do everything right, you’ll know it because your finished homemade strawberry lemonade will have a bright pink color with a bit of a cloudy appearance to it. Of course, you’ll also know that you did a good job because your finished drinks will be absolutely delicious.
In the future, you can choose to sub out the extra lemon juice, if you want. Some good substitutes would include honey or even agave juice. However, you should resist the temptation to forego the extra lemon’s worth of juice and just add a third lemon to the mix, because doing so will make your finished juice way too pulpy in texture and thickness.
Make larger batches by adjusting the recipe’s proportions accordingly. These drinks aren’t made to sit in the fridge for long, but it’s no big deal if you store it in there between drinks while you chat with friends or family.
Enjoy! You’ve successfully made your own delicious homemade frozen strawberry lemonade!
