Make Your Own Luscious Bath Bombs

Ingredients:

1 Cup of Baking Soda
½ Cup of Citric Acid
¾ Cup of Corn Starch
½ cup of Sea Salt or Epsom Salt
2 Tablespoons of Oil (olive, almond, coconut, argan, or apricot)
2 Tablespoons of Water or Witch Hazel
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
30 to 40 Drops of Essential Oils (lavender, vanilla, rosa, gardenia, etc.)
Dried Herbs for Texture
Natural Dye

Method:

Before you get started you will want to make sure that you have all the ingredients on hand, the essential oils are what will give your bath bombs those amazing smells that you associate with the store bought ones, the same with the oils. When deciding what you want to make look up the ingredients for the bath bombs you have bought in the past and explore what oil combinations produce the scents you want. You may also want to purchase metal molds unless you want simple sphere shapes.

First, add all of the dry ingredients together in a big mixing bowl and make sure they are well combined. Next, in a smaller bowl add the wet ingredients together. You will want to add the essential oils in smaller batches rather than all at once to achieve the scent you like and to make sure it is not too overpowering. Then, slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix them together.

Once everything is combined you will want to shape them into balls and squeeze them together to make sure they are tightly compressed to hold their shape. If they are a bit on the crumbly side spray them with witch hazel to hold them together. Place the finished product aside, or in the mold and let it sit for 24-48 hours until they are dry. Now, they are ready to use and will last for about two weeks. It may take some time to find the exact scent you want, so enjoy mixing the essential oils and creating your signature scent. Draw a bath and relax with your creation.
