After you have dried on some different wedding dress styles and finally said ‘yes’ to the dress you have the added task of deciding how to accessorize it. The two most important pieces are what you plan to plop on your head and wear on your feet. With so many different headpieces to choose from it can be hard to know what is quite right. Here are some choices to get you started and to make sure you stun on the big day.
A Classic Veil
A veil made of fine tulle or chantilly lace can be just what your dress calls for. Classic gowns which feature a long column of silk or satin can be easily adorned with an ornate veil. The lace can add a beautiful pattern of flowers or another intricate pattern to your overall look. Tulle can also create a dramatic train if you want to have your guests staring at the back of your dress as you walk up the aisle. You simply have to decide on the length you want. Keep in mind a long train will require some assistance so you will want to make sure you choose a close friend or family member to be on veil watch. You don’t want to accidentally trip on your big day!
If you have been a longtime fan of the British royals than you know a tiara tends to be the go-to headpiece of choice. Meghan Markle’s alone was pretty spectacular as it was encrusted with beautiful diamonds. You can have this look and for a lot less though. A tiara does not have to be made of real diamonds or emeralds. Paste jewels can look just as good as the real thing which means tiaras are quite a bit more affordable than those in the royal collection. Make sure to try on a variety of different shapes and designs to see which one best accentuates your face and be sure to get a hairstyle that will hold it in place for the wedding day.
A Flower Crown
This one is an absolute classic and has been used for decades by brides around the world. If you are a bride on a budget than a beautiful floral crown might just be the perfect headpiece for you. You can add a pop of color to your all-white ensemble by selecting pink roses, baby’s breath, or even some leafy greens. A florist will be able to weave the flowers of your choice into a beautiful crown that you can wear down the aisle. It will give your look a very ethereal feel almost as if you are in a romantic garden. This can also be a good accessory for bridesmaids as well if you want a cohesive wedding party look.
