How Our Troops Celebrate Christmas on Deployment

No one likes to be alone during the holidays and for troops stationed abroad being away from home and their loved ones around the festive season can be tough. Luckily, With some elbow grease and a dash of determination these troops were able to fill their bases with the holiday spirit and celebrate the holidays despite being so far from home. This is how troops from around the world celebrate the holidays while deployed.

A Story Before Bedtime

For Christmas eve these soldiers stationed in Mosul sat down to listen to their Brigadier General read aloud ‘The Soldiers Night Before Christmas’.

This take on the traditional Christmas tale ‘a night before Christmas’ is read mainly by children whose parents are serving overseas but for this occasion, it was equally fitting. The soldiers listened happily as their Brigadier read the popular book and afterward they exchanged presents and sang carols.
