Everyone hopes to find the love of their life and it can come in some of the most unexpected places and times. Once you have found that love, sometimes you choose to take the next step – marriage. The proposal and the engagement announcement is always a happy time, and you want to share it with everyone you are close to. However, for one teacher in the state of Massachusetts, although he longed to be able to share the news of his impending nuptials, for some reason he didn’t. How could you not want to share it with the students you see five days a week for eight hours a day, but he just was not sure, no matter how much he wanted to. They obviously featured very strongly in his life, just as his partner did. But, he was in for a shock when he finally got to see their reactions to the news. And boy, did he find out in a big way…

Christopher Landis had been a teacher for a number of years and had taught at Hingham Middle School for the last six years of his teaching career. He had also taken on the role of choir director and was well-respected and loved by every student that he taught.

He was known for being extremely dedicated to his students, and always providing an upbeat attitude and a positive word whenever a student needed some support.
