Growing up most of us said we wanted to have one epic job or another – pilot, astronaut, baker, fireman, lawyer, doctor, or chef, to name a few. Our dreams changed over the years and most of us have ended up doing something vastly different than what we had in mind during elementary school. As adults, there are those who want to be someone and do something that they know they will be passionate about and make their dreams come true. This very situation was unfolding for a man in Oklahoma who always dreamt of having his own restaurant. Unfortunately, life has a way of coming in between our dreams and reality, and this Oklahoma father continuously pushed his dream farther away because “life kept getting in the way”. The man was just about to throw in the towel when his daughter decided to use the power of Twitter to change her dad’s life through and through, little did she realize the magnitude of her actions and the power of social media.
Dewayne Callahan grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he always dreamt of serving his delicious dishes to unsuspecting customers who he knew would come back once they had tasted his dishes. Dewayne grew up fantasizing about his own restaurant.
He imagined how happy he would be to live his passion every single day and serve others. This dream of his, however, is a complicated one when life sends its curveballs your way.
