These unusual things can only be seen in Thailand

Thailand is a country that truly has something for everyone. If you go to the South you can find islands upon islands dotting the emerald-colored sea. Spending time on the beach may not be your cup of tea though, which means the North would be perfect. It is dotted with temples and delicious food that all visitors have to try. Some visitors like to get off the beaten track though which means that these very special places are something that you simply have to experience. They are not found anywhere else in the world which makes them a must-see.

A Corgi Cafe

In recent years, dog and cat cafes have begun to pop-up but this Corgi Cafe is truly unique. All of the corgis found within it are related to each other. The owner started out with two and from there they grew to seven and they’ve kept ongoing.

Most cafes have a variety of breeds but this family-run establishment will only ever have corgis. Sit down with an iced coffee and grab a sandwich while you play with these adorable pups.

Designer Coffee

We all want that Instagram perfect picture from our travels and KC Selfie Coffee has developed the perfect way to achieve this. All you need to do is select the selfie of your choice, open up Facebook and message it to them.

From there, they will take your selfie and in painstaking detail have it placed on top of a coffee ready for you to snap. Now you don’t have to worry about getting the right angle for your selfie because it is already right in front of you in coffee form. We bet your friends will be very envious of your face momentarily immortalized in coffee form.

Thailand is known for its Asian elephants, particularly all of the sanctuaries who are concerned with the conservation of these beautiful giants. In the northern city of Chiang Mai, where many of these sanctuaries are found, The Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park is a place where you can learn how to make things out of elephant poop.

It is a great way to give back to the area while learning some really cool skills. Who knew that elephant poop could be used to make all sorts of neat things, like paper for instance? If you don’t want to make some, it could be a cool souvenir to bring home.

The Thai Water Festival

The Thai New Year does not happen on January 1st the way it does around a lot of the world. Instead, the Thai New Year, which is called Songkran happens according to a different calendar. This is usually in the spring, but what makes it so much fun for visitors is the fact that it is marked by a giant water festival.

Imagine being doused in buckets of water to be purified for the new year. You will be able to grab a super soaker and spray all of your fellow travelers and even some of the Thai people who are also partaking. This is the ultimate water fight.

Good Luck Dolls

If you have watched the Netflix show, Travels With My Father starring Jack Whitehall and his father then you probably already know all about these. These dolls look like real babies and are called Luk Thep. This means “child angel” in Thai and if you pray to them it is thought that you will be blessed with good luck.

Thai people who have them treat them as if they are real living children, and if they do bring you luck then you may just want one for yourself. It might be a little bit hard to explain why you have a doll sitting next to you on the plane home though.
