Raising a family is not an easy thing. You have to get your kids off to school each day, pack their lunches, help with homework, and then help them when it comes to the college years. Some parents might think their familial duties are finished as soon as their kids move out but for one Great-Grandmother this was definitely not the case.
Ms. Ella, the great-grandmother at the heart of this story hails from Las Vegas in the state of Nevada. She had raised her children, and then due to certain circumstances, she also looked after her grandchildren. Further events then resulted in Ms. Ella having to raise her great-grandkids, all six of them. Raising children is expensive, one time is doable but to have to raise a brood of children three times in a lifetime can be a financial strain. Ms. Ella had lived in her Nevada community throughout all of her various children’s lives and they had seen how she was bursting with love and gave every last ounce of it to her brood. But eventually, the financial burden took its toll.
Keeping The Faith
Spirituality was something that Ms. Ella had always felt strongly about. Her faith is what helped her to deal with whatever struggles were put in her way. It also gave her a real sense of community which allowed her to have something to fall back on when her time of need came.
All of her collected children were raised in the same faith and taught that you have to stay strong when life doesn’t give you lemons.
