This guy dug a giant hole in his yard and his neighbors couldn’t believe why

We all want to live in the best possible home we can, and sometimes that means getting the job done ourselves. One man was intent on making a change to his property, but it wasn’t very clear what that was going to be to his neighbor. The man just started digging one day in his yard, and he ended up with a giant hole.

It was so big that the man’s neighbor couldn’t ignore it any longer. We all have a sneak peek at what the neighbors are up to when we think they aren’t looking, but this big hole was attracting attention. There was no way this guy could get away with digging so deep into the earth without someone noticing.

There was nothing scary going on but people really wanted to know why a man just decided to begin digging in his backyard. Why was there a giant pit on this man’s property? What he did with his big hole was a big surprise to his neighbors and everyone who heard the story.

Meet Wayne Martin

We’re all sold this idea that having a home is everything you could ever want, but Wayne Martin felt as though something was missing. He had a plan for his backyard, but he wasn’t going to share it with anyone until his project was completed.

Wayne began his special DIY adventure by digging a mysterious giant hole in his backyard. It looked the perfect size for a swimming pool, but that wasn’t on Wayne’s mind.

Taking things up a notch

As if creating a giant hole in his backyard wasn’t enough, Wayne had more unexpected ideas for his DIY project. Wayne bought a 20-foot shipping container and had actually owned the giant space before he put a shovel in the ground. Amazingly it wasn’t that tricky to get hold of one as they are readily available on the internet.

The prices are affordable, which was perfect because Wayne didn’t want the costs of his project spiraling out of control. This container was going to make sure Wayne’s project would be as cheap as possible, but this was just the beginning.

First steps

Wayne’s container was delivered to his property, but it wasn’t fit for the job just yet. The first thing Wayne did to his shipping container was to make sure it was sealed shut. Every inch of the shipping container was investigated to make sure there were no cracks, and if there were any, they were sealed.

The double doors that are common with shipping containers were sealed shut, and Wayne installed a swinging door at the other end. All potential leaks were sealed up, and the new door was deliberately chosen to make sure it opened inward into the container.
